Mr. August Henriksen (born 22nd November 1891) whom has worked as a shipbroker with N. Schiøtt & Hochbrandt, Copenhagen, establishes the company A. Henriksen Shipping in Amaliegade 35 in Copenhagen.
The company is appointed as agent for Norddeutscher Lloyd of Bremen as per 15th August 1934.

1936
The company is appointed as agent for the Oldenburg-Portugiesische Dampfschiffs-Rhederei of Hamburg having vessels calling Copenhagen directly from the Canarian Islands with fruit.
Futhermore A. Henriksen Shipping is appointed as agent for another Hamburg based shipping line, the Horn-Linie.

1939
A. Henriksen Shipping is appointed as agent for the shipowner C. Clausen who opens a route between Copenhagen and Stockholm.

1948
Fjell Line (the shipowner Olsen & Ugelstad) is starting up a route on Canada/the Great Lakes. A. Henriksen Shipping becomes general agent for the line.

1956
With A. Henriksen Shipping as agent Fjell Line is opening routes from Europe to Canada/the Great Lakes in cooperation with the Dutch Oranje Lijn. The new line is named Fjell-Oranje Lines.

1958
The Norwegian shipowner Jens C. Hagen, Oslo, establishes Da-No Linjen and starts up routes between Denmark and Oslo. A. Henriksen Shipping is appointed as agent in Copenhagen.

1964
A. Henriksen Shipping moves from the Hammerensgade no. 3, Copenhagen, to Glückstadtsvej 2, in Copenhagen Free Port.
1964
Shipbroker Mr. August Henriksen passes away during a business trip to Casablanca on 25th. His widow Ms. Edith Henriksen takes care of the continued operation of the company together with two new partners, Mr. Finn Dettmer (employed since 1956) and Mr. Henning B. Sørensen (employed since 1958).

1967
The company takes over the liner agency for Dampskibsselskabet Veritas (Veritas Ruten) operating a liner service between Denmark and Norway.
1970
Ms. Edith Henriksen and Mr. Finn Dettmer leave A. Henriksen Shipping and Mr. Henning B. Sørensen continues as sole owner of the company.

1979
The company changes name to A. Henriksen Shipping I/S and is now owned by Mr. Hans K. Rasmussen (employed since 1965), Mr. Gorm E. Nielsen (employed 1966), Mr. Erik V. Hansen (employed since 1968) and Mr. Henning B. Sørensen.

1980
The first warehouse is built in Hundested (the green warehouse next to the berth for the ferry Hundested-Rørvig) and the company opens a branch office in Hundested.

1984
A. Henriksen Shipping I/S becomes a part owner of Veritas Ruten.

1985
Mr. Hans K. Rasmussen and Mr. Gorm E. Nielsen sell their shares in A. Henriksen Shipping I/S and the company is now owned by Mr. Henning B. Sørensen and Mr. Erik V. Hansen.
The new general cargo port in Hundested is inaugurated.
Two warehouses, no. 1 and no. 2, are build at the new quay.

1987
The company becomes a part owner of Rederiaktieselskabet Østersøen which amongst others is operating a route between Hundested and Bornholm.

1989
The company moves from Glückstadtsvej 2 in the Copenhagen Free Port to Kanalholmen 1 at Avedøre Holme where a container terminal, named Shipping Terminalen, is established.

1990
The company A/S P/F Nordic Line is being established with the purpose of offering liner traffic between Hundested and the Faroe Islands.
A.Henriksen Shipping I/S is appointed as agent for Lys Line, Oslo, for the traffic to Ireland.

1995
The container crane is acquired and put into operation at the general cargo berth.
The warehouses no. 3 and no. 4 are build.
The company is becoming a partner in a newly established company operating the fast ferry M/F Kattegat.

1997
The warehouse no. 5 is built at the container berth.

2000
The company moves its headquarter from Avedøre Holme to Hundested.
A new office building is being build.

2001
Mr. Henning B. Sørensen is selling his shares in the company and Mr. Erik V. Hansen is now the sole owner of the company.

2002
The branch in Frederiksværk is opened.

2008
A new heavy lift crane (Liebherr 400) with a lifting capacity of 100 TS is acquired and put into service at the terminal in Frederiksværk.

2013
Mr. Erik V. Hansen sells the majority of his shares in the company to a group of private investors.
The company is changing name to A. Henriksen Shipping A/S.
2015
Mr. Erik Valentin Hansen ceases as CEO of A. Henriksen Shipping A/S and a new CEO is appointed of the company.
2017
A. Henriksen Shipping A/S purchases a new Liebherr 550 crane with a lifting capacity up to 140 mts.
The company now has two mobile Liebherr shore cranes at their disposal.
